WASTE MANAGEMENT: LISTED ACTIVITY REGULATIONS TO BE REPLACED

The Department of Forestry, Fisheries & the Environment intends replacing the list of waste management activities detrimentally affecting the environment or with the potential to do so. First gazetted in November 2013 under the 2008 National Environmental Management: Waste Act, the list has apparently been revised several times.
With that in mind, input is sought by 11 July 2026 on what will eventually become the new list. Proposed transitional measures are included.
As far as can be ascertained, there is no publicly available composite list reflecting all operationalised amendments to date.
