This is noting that the inquiry’s August 2025 regulations on search and seizure were amended in June 2026 to allow persons authorised by the chairman to issue directives. SA Legal Academy reported on this at the time.
Presumably, the latest proclamation nullifies the 2 October 2026 ‘evidence deadline’ and 16 November 2026 findings submission deadline announced in a 9 July Presidency media statement on which SA Legal Academy also reported. As far as can be ascertained, these dates were never confirmed by proclamation in the Government Gazette.
