The National Assembly’s Justice & Constitutional Development Committee has issued notices and media statements calling for written submissions by 24 July 2026 on three Bills:
Formally introduced in July 2025, the International Co-operation in Criminal Matters Amendment Bill seeks to strengthen South Africa’s framework for international co-operation in criminal matters.
Tabled in May 2026, the Extradition Bill seeks to modernise South Africa’s extradition framework by ‘ensuring that it is aligned with … constitutional principles and the country’s international commitments’. This is according to the committee media statement concerned.
Formally introduced in October 2025, the South African Judicial Education Institute Amendment Bill focuses on matter of governance and management.
