TAX BILLS: NATIONAL ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE CALLS FOR SUBMISSIONS

In anticipation of a first round of parliamentary hearings on 24 November 2026, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance has called for written submissions on three Bills tabled with the 2026 Medium Term Budget Policy Statement:

  • the Rates & Monetary Amounts & Amendment of Revenue Laws Bill
  • the Taxation Laws Amendment Bill, and
  • the Tax Administration Laws Amendment Bill.

The deadline for input is 23 November 2026.

Once passed by Parliament, enacted and operationalised, the three new pieces of legislation will give effect to tax-related proposals in the 2026/27 Budget. Released in draft form in June and July 2026 for public comment, they were the focus of pre-tabling parliamentary hearings three months later – as SA Legal Academy reported at the time.

  • Rates & Monetary Amounts & Amendment of Revenue Laws Bill
  • Taxation Laws Amendment Bill
  • Tax Administration Laws Amendment Bill
